The online casino industry has been struggling with legislation related issues for quite a few years now. Getting a license for operating an online casino is not an easy task and even impossible in some regions. This can get a little confusing when it comes to adjacent areas that do not share the same online casino gambling policies.

A good example for this would be Asia. While the Chinese government is set on revoking online casino gambling the country, Japan has recently been taking steps toward legalizing online casino gambling and licensing land based and online casinos. In fact, a Japanese campaign for legalizing online casino gambling has been receiving positive feedback and the support of the country's ruling Liberal Democratic Party. This is considered to be a progress that would change not only online casino gambling policies in Japan itself, but in the whole Asian region.

Online casino sites operators may be requested to attend discussions that will be held by the Japanese tourism committee and will determine the future of the online casino industry in Japan. These discussions were probably brought on by a recommendation made by a subcommittee operating under the tourism committee, which suggested online casino gambling can actually contribute to the country's economy, mainly in all aspects of taxation. Many social groups in Japan expressed their concern about the influence online casino gaming can have on Japanese youth. The Japanese government reassured these groups that any decision that will be made regarding the future of the online casino industry in Japan will take these issues under consideration.
